I became a physician to help people navigate some of life's most challenging moments while preserving and optimizing their health — and I chose gastroenterology because it lets me do both: treat disease, and prevent it.
Building lasting relationships with my patients and combining science, thoughtful problem-solving, and genuine compassion has always been deeply fulfilling to me. I was initially drawn to gastroenterology because I found the complexity of digestive diseases fascinating. As my training progressed, I came to appreciate something even more meaningful: the opportunity not only to diagnose and treat disease, but to prevent it.
Colon cancer is one of the most preventable cancers through healthy lifestyle choices and routine screening colonoscopies. Whether I'm helping patients manage chronic digestive conditions or preventing disease before it begins, I am passionate about improving my patients' long-term health and quality of life.
I want every patient to leave feeling heard, valued, and genuinely cared for. My goal is for you to have a trusted physician who takes the time to listen, answer your questions, and understand your unique health goals — and for you to leave every visit with a clear understanding of your diagnosis and treatment plan, feeling informed, confident, and empowered.
My mission is simple: to improve your quality of life through exceptional gastrointestinal care that is both proactive and personalized. I believe outstanding medical care begins with listening. I value honesty, accessibility, clinical excellence, and lasting relationships founded on trust. Every patient deserves the same level of care, attention, and advocacy that I would want for my own family.
I've authored more than twenty peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national meetings including Digestive Disease Week, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the AASLD Liver Meeting — spanning colorectal cancer prevention, endoscopic outcomes, cirrhosis risk stratification, and inflammatory bowel disease. My active research includes identifying risk factors for early-onset colorectal cancer, a disease rising sharply in adults under 50 — which is one reason I take screening so seriously.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles and am proud to return home to care for the community that shaped me. I'm fluent in Farsi and proficient in Spanish. Outside of medicine, you'll find me trying new restaurants, at live music, skiing, hiking, on the Peloton, cooking, playing backgammon, and spending time with family and friends. Mentorship has been a constant thread in my career — from tutoring students for over fifteen years to mentoring medical students at UCLA.
I'm a board-certified internal medicine physician and fellowship-trained gastroenterologist, born and raised in Los Angeles, caring for a limited panel of patients through a concierge practice built on time, access, and trust.
